Healthcare Reform and How It Will Affect Employers – Round Table Luncheon in Dallas

On Sunday, March 21, 2010, the House of Representatives passed the fiercely contested healthcare reform bill, HR 3590. On Thursday, March 25 the Senate passed the Reconciliation Bill, the so-called “fix it” bill. On Tuesday, March 30, President Obama signed the final piece of the legislation into law. This legislation will have a major impact on every person living in the United States for the foreseeable future. While there are many implications of this bill, we’ll only discuss the pieces that will directly impact employers at this luncheon.

Sage Accpac Shortcuts for Forms, Notebooks, and Records

Here are a few shortcuts that allow you to use forms, notebooks, and records in Sage Accpac more efficiently:

HOME – Move to the first entry in the form
END – Move to the last entry in the form
↑ or ↓ – Move up or down a single row
ENTER or TAB – Move the cursor to the next field
SHIFT + TAB – Move the cursor to the previous field
INS – Add a new entry on the next line
DEL – Delete the selected entry
F9 – Maximize or Minimize the display area
Spacebar – Checks or unchecks a checkbox
F7 – Refreshes the record

Google recently redesigned its News section to allow users to tailor preferences to their interests.  From customizing what types of news you are interested in reading to promoting and demoting a source – - Google has added many new features to its news section. Press the Plus Key (+)  to activate the Sage Accpac Calculator from any field where numeric calculations are performed. You can use it as a regular calculator by utilizing the 10-key numeric keypad on your keyboard, or you can use it with your mouse. Contact us to get a copy of a list of shortcuts you can use with the calculator.

Wherever the Finder icon displays, Sage Accpac provides a search engine to assist you in finding information. The Finder’s search capabilities are dynamic and customizable.

What is a Macro?

A macro can be defined several different ways, but a simple definition is that a macro is a command that is part of an application and executes a series of commands. A macro performs a task or series of tasks, and many times these tasks are repetitive or frequently performed tasks. Here are a few examples where a macro could be useful in an accounting system such as Sage Accpac ERP:

  • importing data from an outside source
  • changing employee numbers, and
  • performing data integrity checks.
