In a recent survey, 87% of small business owners claimed that their firm will perform the same or better in 2010 compared to 2009. Some 57% are predicting an economic upswing in the upcoming year, gearing up in hopes of an economic recovery and preparing for the best.
We all know that if the pendulum swings one way, it most definitely will return and swing in the other direction. It is this positive thinking that needs to be encouraged this year as we start off 2010 with a struggling economy. Has this recession perhaps been prolonged even further by negative forecasts and pessimistic predictions since the summer of 2008? The discouragement obviously hasn’t helped in any way. What we need now to help our country climb out of this recession is by instilling positive thoughts and trying to move in an upward direction rather than simply trying to maintain our current positions. An economy is made up of the people in it and those people are the ones who can help make the difference.
