I am building an Intacct customization where we added a custom field on AP Bill. This field must be populated for my customization to work. However, when users create PO transactions, such as a Vendor Invoice via Intacct page, Intacct creates a corresponding AP Bill, which does not have this file populated. It seems the only solution was to use a Smart Event to update the AP Bill to populate the field.
However, this seems to be a quite tedious solution, which complicates things a lot. After talking to my co-workers, they immediately suggested to try adding the same custom field on the Vendor Invoice and see if Intacct brings the value to the custom field on the AP Bill.
Under serious doubt, I tried it and guess what? It worked! These screenshots show the two fields I added on the Vendor Invoice and AP Bill screens. Intacct does all the work to sync these fields for you.
I am surprised that Intacct covered this use case, where all the customizations on PO Transactions transfer to the corresponding AP Bills. I bet customizations on OE Transactions also transfer to corresponding AR Invoices, but I have not tried it yet.
