MID MARKET ERP DEVELOPMENT

Last week we helped a client create a “find page” in CRM to look up Sage 300 ERP Inventory quantities. Our client only has one Sage 300 ERP company, so we first created a view in CRM with the fields we need. Then we setup a new table connection to the view to create a new list and blocks for the find screen. After we finished the project, I went to make the data available in the interactive dashboard. First, I tried to check the SData view property for the new view. However, when I tried to create SData List Gadget, it always gave me an error. Then I tried with List Gadget. First, I had to turn the table connection as a Top entity. Once it became a top entity, we created List Gadget from data sources including reports, saved searches, saved advanced finds, and groups. I decided to use saved advanced finds, because I wanted to figure out how to make the new table connection available in advanced find.
To make the table available in advanced find, we had to:
1. Create a new view, this view will need to be named vSearchList#Table Name#
2. Create a new record in translation
Caption Code: #Table Name#
Caption Family: AdvFindEntities
Caption Family Type: Choices
US Translation: #Table Name#
UK Translation: #Table Name#
3. Create a new list, the list will need to be named #Table Name#Grid
(note: Need to substitute #Table Name# with actual table name.)
Go to Find->Advanced Find and save a search for the new table.
Here is what the Gadget List looks in the interactive dashboard.
